Note the following features of this example of a full-text file:

• It begins with a colon on a line of its own. The colon tells PanLex that this is a full-text, not a simple-text, file. That implies that the file may contain any kind of information that PanLex recognizes (not only expressions).
• The line after the colon contains the number 2. This indicates that there are 2 inferrable language varieties. They are identified in the following 2 lines. These 3 lines complete the header and indicate that the first expression in any entry will be in Turkmen in Latin script, and all subsequent expressions in the entry will be in English.
• After the header are entries. They contain expressions (labeled “ex”), a word classification (labeled “wc”), and a definition (labeled “df”). The value “verb” of the “wc” parameter is drawn from a closed inventory of permitted word classes (e.g., “advb” for adverb). The “df” parameter has a double value: a language variety (here English) and a text (a free-format string that is declared to be in that language variety). The “ex” parameters have 1 specified value, the text of the expression’s lemma, because the other value, the language variety, is inferrable.
